They took the leap, now they’re thriving – the real people behind Wonderfield’s success
Quite a few of my emails have been about the benefits of the Wonderfield franchise and what it can offer you, and the numbers which highlight what a great opportunity this is – that we’re looking at around 20 kiosks sold by the end of 2025, record-smashing turnovers of more than €10k per week, and so on.
All critical stuff when it comes to helping you understand how this can work for you, but it’s also very important to remember that there are real people behind all these figures. People just like you who have found success with the Wonderfield franchise and are now looking forward to a very bright future.
Which is why I have decided this time to focus on some of those people and let them share their own story.
Yin He – owner of Sushi Circle in SuperValu Killester
Yin He has teamed up with her husband to bring Sushi Circle to the Dublin area for the first time, and they are a great example of how bringing complementary skills together can help create a winning team.
She’s an accountant in training – methodical, organised, and driven. Her husband? His experience couldn’t have been more perfect – he’s a skilled sushi chef!
“I have been a housewife for many years, and my husband worked in a restaurant.” Yin He explained. “We decided it was time we had a small business of our own, but we didn’t have any experience in running our own business, so we felt franchising was the best way to do it. I searched online for different opportunities and found Wonderfield. I signed up for more information, and then Erick and John contacted me, and that was it!”
SuperValu’s new sushi power couple opened their kiosk in June of this year, and it has been just as successful as they hoped it would be. Not only that, but Yin He is able to support herself in gaining her accountancy qualification, too.
“It’s hard work, but I am getting some wonderful experience in how to run a business and do the accounts. My husband is able to use all his skills and experience, too, and we’re finally building something for ourselves.”
The husband and wife team are focusing on building up their core business for now, but Yin He did hint that she has been speaking to the SuperValu owners about expanding in the near future. We can’t wait to see everything they achieve!
Morin – owner of Bento in M&S Cork
Morin joined the franchise after a long career in hospitality, and was one of the first franchisees to open a kiosk outside of Dublin. He loved working in the industry, but soon found the long, unsociable hours were starting to take their toll.
“Working weekends, long nights, and split shifts was fun for a while, but I’m not getting any younger!”” Morin told us. “I really needed to find something which could give me a better work-life balance, and it was time to make a change. Running a kiosk means I can still enjoy working with customers in a similar way.”
When a friend who worked with Bento told him about the franchise, Morin jumped at the chance to combine his customer service skills with business ownership. “I also really wanted to run my own business, so I decided to learn some more. I very quickly decided this was a great idea!”
His Cork kiosk is now thriving, and he’s already planning kiosk number two in early 2026, this time as YO! in a nearby Tesco.
“Soon, if anyone in Cork wants to buy sushi, they’ll have to come to me!” Morin joked. We don’t know if he wants to get the full set and go for a Sushi Circle in SuperValu sometime soon, but given his ambition and success so far, it wouldn’t surprise us!
These are just two examples of people who’ve taken this franchise opportunity and turned it into something life-changing.
Could you be the next big success story?
There’s only one way to find out, and that’s for us to have a chat! No pressure, and no obligation, just a chance for you to learn if a Wonderfield franchise could be the right next step for you, too.
